Galvão Engenharia S/A is planning to sell its 66.6% stake in Companhia de Águas do Brasil – CAB Ambiental S.A. by November. A bankruptcy protection plan has been approved and will be filed in a bankruptcy court. The auction is expected within 60 days of the court filing. Galvão Engenharia expects $165 million for its stake.

Companhia de Águas do Brasil – CAB Ambiental S.A. is up for sale with an estimated price tag of some BRL 850 million. Galvão Engenharia S/A is hoping to sell its 66.6% stake in Companhia for at least BRL 550 million the minimum price at which it will be sold at an upcoming auction, local paper Valor Econômico reported. No auction date was mentioned. Considering minority shareholders and the 33.3% stake owned by BNDES Participações S/A – BNDESPAR the price to acquire the entire company should be around BLR 850 million. Although the minimum price is estimated at BRL 850 millio, it could rise higher, as at least four investors have shown interest in the company so far. Those four firms are Aegea Saneamento e Participações S.A., GP Investments (BOVESPA:GPIV33), Israel’s Miya, and ENGIE SA (ENXTPA:ENGI), according to the report.
